The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed during the Easter break, easter eggs for the children a lovely touch. Also Easter colouring competition a good idea. The hotel is close to shops, bars and restaurants. Enjoyed ourselves so much, we extended our stay by another night. We will stay here again.
We had booked on room only basis but went for breakfast one morning, it was a bit expensive.
The Hotel is so central to town ,and the music on Friday and Saturday night,All the staff in the hotel were all so nice .Will definely be back
Rooms are large and comfortable. Breakfast very nice. Italian in the hotel and hotel in general dealt very well for coeliacs with gluten free bread and pasts in the italian and gluten free bread at breakfast.
Only one of the restaurants were open for dinner which was a little restrictive versus what was advertised
room was spacious and we got a good rate on Booked.net and fairly clean
There was a hair in the bath, its just off-putting and lack of attention to detail
the pool was lovely n relaxing, good location
staff at reception were not very friendly, beds were not comfortable
the food ,handy to town, relaxing hotel and staff great
The hotel was bright clean and the overall impression was excellent
If your looking for a late drink then this is a good place to stay. We were at a wedding and the residents bar was going till about 6am. The staff were very friendly. There were good facilities in the hotel - gym, sauna, pool etc but I never actually got around to using them, but they were good by all accounts.
I don't think Portloaise is a great location but we were purely there for the wedding. It was a bit pricey but again that's always going to be the case when a big wedding is in the hotel.
It was lovely on first impression,,girls on the reception were v friendly and helpful...The only thing I didnt like was the fact that the resturant was outside, across the way,,,the downfall there was they didnt have any vegetables with the dinner,i was talking to others another time and they thought this too...the beauty spa was fantastic,i have recommened ye as a hotel to family and friends I will be calling back there again,,an excellent stay Thank you agaain
The staff were nice
The room was shabby. The decor was very dated in the room and looked like it had seen better days. The bed was sunken on one side. Very disappointed with this hotel. It looks great down stairs in the lobby but the bedroom was like a low end b&b quality. Never again.
We loved our room it was enormous and so comfortable with a 2 seater sofa. The Italian meal was wonderful and the staff fantastic and so helpful
One thing only but I did address it with the hotel directly and have the confidence it will be dealt with directly. We went for breakfast having never stayed in the hotel before. No one to greet us as we arrived so we had to stand around not sure what to do no sign to say "Please wait to be seated" Eventually we were directed to our seats, asked if we wanted tea or coffee and that was the end of communication. No words like have you eaten here before or any direction as to where the food was. We sat for awhile looking around and eventually were aware it was self service . It was a shame that the incident detracted from all the wonderful service and the caring approach of all the staff we met from reception to the Italiant Restuarant Apart that loved the whole experience.
The location and the price for the in-house event we were attending
For a 4-star hotel it is grubby and shabby with carpets that need replacing and walls that need cleaning/touch-ups.
The staff in the hotel were as helpful and as friendly as could be
We dined in the Spago restaurant and found the waitress less than helpful with the dietry needs of a coeliac in our family
The Front Office Staff were excellent particulary Amanda, the room was really clean quiet and warm.
The Food and Beverage Dept were a little understaffed for peak service particularly at breakfast they were very pleasant under pressure.
Excellent breakfast. Ideal location near the shopping centre. Use of car park - no charge. Lifts to bedrooms. Comfortable room.
